SAFETY AUDIT CHECKLIST

Congratulations on becoming a Motor Carrier!

Whether this is your first business or you have been operating for many years, you will find that there are many hurdles to overcome before you can operate under a US DOT number legally.  Unified Compliance Services is committed to helping businesses prepare for their safety audit and stay compliant with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR’s).

If you have not already, you will receive a letter from the U.S. Department of Transportation that will require your business to register your USDOT number into the new entrant program. Over the life of your business you may be audited in a number of ways, some of which are scheduled and others will be unforeseen, including:

#1 SAFETY AUDIT

#2 COMPLIANCE REVIEWS

#3 ROADSIDE INSPECTIONS

IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU START PREPARING YOUR AUDIT PAPERWORK IMMEDIATELY. USE UNIFIED COMPLIANCE SERVICES AND THE FOLLOWING CHECKLIST TO HELP ORGANIZE AND KEEP RECORD OF EACH REQUIREMENT.

As you read through the checklist, tasks with the (*) are services Unified Compliance Services can assist you with.

In accordance with 49 CFR section 385.337 49 CFR 385.337, failure to permit a safety audit to be performed may result in the revocation of a New Entrants registration and the operation may be put out of service.
